Account Login Security : how to protect your data and money

Service ZIO provides opportunities for work and earnings, which means that personal data and financial resources are stored in your account. Their security begins with reliable protection of the entry point — login and password. This article, based on the official documents of the service, will tell you how to protect your account from hacking and what to do in critical situations.

    Why is this important?
According to Section 3.3 of User Agreement, you are solely responsible for all actions performed under your account. This means that in case of hacking and fraudulent transactions, claims may be made against you. The company takes measures to protect your data (clause 2.1 of the Privacy Policy), but the first line of defense is you.

Prevention: Creating a strong password and protecting it
Uniqueness and complexity. Do not use simple passwords (such as "123456") or passwords from your mail and social networks. Create a complex combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

Confidentiality. Never share your authentication information (login and password) with anyone. ZIO Suppirt Team would never ask for your password.

Correct input. When entering the password, pay attention to:

    - Keyboard layout. The password must be entered in the same layout in which it was created.
    - Letter case. Make sure that Caps Lock is not active unless required by password.
    - AutoCorrect on the phone. On mobile devices temporarily disable T9 and autocorrect so that it will not distort the input.

What should I do if I can't log into my account?

Scenario 1: "Invalid username or password"
If the system reports an error, don't panic.

    - Check the input. Once again, carefully check the layout, case, and the absence of unnecessary spaces.
    - Take advantage of the recovery. Click on the "Password reminder" button in the login window. The system will send instructions on how to restore access to the email address linked to account.
    - Check Spam folder. A letter from the support service can sometimes get in there.

Important: Unfortunately, it is not possible to restore your account if you do not have access to the linked email. We recommend to create a new one.

Scenario 2: The login is lost
If you can't remember your username, check your email address. The email with login details arrives immediately after registration. If there is no email or access to the mail is lost, we recommend creating a new account.

Scenario 3: Technical problems (page won't load, problems with login form, captcha)
    1. Check your internet connection. Make sure that it is stable.
    2. Reload the page (press F5 on your computer).
    3. Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) or device.
    4. Clear your browser cache and cookies. Accumulated data may interfere with correct work of the site.
    5. Disable ad blockers (for example, AdBlock). They can block important elements, including captcha.
    6. Check the date and time on your device. Make sure that automatic synchronization is enabled.

If the problem persists, it is possible that technical work is being carried out on the service side. Wait 15-30 minutes and try again.

    Emergency situation: Suspected account hacking
If you notice suspicious activity (mailing on your behalf, unauthorized transactions) or cannot log in despite the correct password, act right away:

    1. Immediately change your email password. This will block the hacker from receiving password reset emails from ZIO.
    2. Restore access to ZIO using the "Password reminder" function and set a new, password - as secure as possible.
    3. Check transaction history in your Wallet.
    4. Contact ZIO Support Team. Describe the situation in as much detail as possible. This will help our specialists figure it out faster and take action.
    5. Check your device with antivirus software. Malware is often the cause of data leaks.

    Remember your rights and responsibilities

    1. Company's liability is limited. As indicated in the Offer (clause 4.4), Contractor's liability to User is limited to the amount of actual damage, but cannot exceed the cost of the unperformed Service or the amount of funds left in ZIO Wallet.
    2. You have the right for data protection. According to Privacy Policy (section 4), you can revoke your consent to data processing, request their clarification or blocking.

The security of your account is a shared responsibility. ZIO provides tools for protection, but their use and vigilance when working online are User's responsibility. By following these simple rules, you will minimize risks and be able to safely use all our features.
